Southwold is a lovely seaside town with individual shops, pubs and restaurants. Lovely walks along the beach to the pier and also to the Harbour where you can get the little ferry over to Walberswick. We ate at the Red Lion pub, excellent menu and specials board. Hotel situated in the town, which is always busy, no matter what day. A good mix of cafes, shops and hotels. It's a 2mins walk to the beach with many pubs around. Would highly recommend the Adnams Lighthouse tour.. was about 1hr long with a very knowledgeable and amusing guide. Been back here a few times and never disappointed.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fishing from the pier was a great hit with our grandson even though what he caught was too small to keep. The guy at Fisherman and Friends was very helpful with advice and fishing gear. The Sail Loft in Southwold was a great restaurant with good food and staff . We wanted to eat dinner at Sole Bay Inn in Southwold but you can't book and we could not get a table for 5 adults and 2 children even by turning up early. The Swan at Barnby was a brilliant place for lunch with great fish, good service and play area outside for children. You must book in advance though.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A wonderful town to visit, still very much like it was 50 years ago and we hope it stays that way. Its nearly all oridinal in its quaint state, lighthouse brewery and all overlooking the loverly beach and woth a pier.Guest review byAnonymous

But what I liked most was the small touches like the home made tartare sauce and the home made jam and marmalade which all tasted superb.
