It doesn't do well when compared with Cirencester which really is a town worth visiting. Stroud is pleasant enough and good for shopping. Minchinhampton Common .'The Bear' in an excellent position for walkers. Fantastic views over the valley. Good for golfers. Livestock graze on the common. Roman ruins nearby in Cirencester. Lovely places to eat - lovely country views - travelled by...
Lovely places to eat - lovely country views - travelled by bicycle. Lots of hills so at times you have to walk it but we enjoyed ourselves. Travelled by train would recommend making reservations for your bicycles. Ate at Egypt Mill, Casa Sabor and The Bear at Rodborough and loved the food at the Five Valleys. We planned our trip to coincide with weekly Farmer's market - this was really bustling and vibrant, as was town centre in general.
