As far as I know the only reason to visit here is the airfield. Immediately in front of the hotel is a company offering flights in vintage aircraft such as Spitfires and Tiger Moths and to one side is the base of the Blades Aerobatic team. Both were flying a range of aircraft all day with the Blades providing a full four aircraft flying display over the airfield for their own guests. It would be worth a visit for that alone. For anyone interested in aviation this is a great place to visit as the public areas are really close to the aircraft. We even had an impromptu fly past by the Red Arrows. Whether that happens often I don't know but as the Blades pilots are all ex Red Arrows I doubt it was a one off. No problem parking cars and no parking charges and the Aviator Hotel offers bar and food service to non residents.Guest review byAndyCUnited Kingdom
