This was a very last minute booking as I had a four and a half delay on my flight which meant I was basically stranded on my own at Stansted. I booked this as I was going through passport control. I called the property immediately and they picked me up from the airport late at night and took me back to the airport very early the next morning (£14 return). I was extremely grateful for their kindness in a situation where I was very stressed and tired. They also offered to make me a sandwich! The room was beautiful with attention to detail.

Very close to the AirPort, approximately 5 minutes walk. Clean and quiet rooms. Staff was also very nice, smooth & fast check in. Great that breakfast starts at 04:00AM, perfect if you have an early flight.

This is the 5th time we have stayed at this holiday Inn express. We have to travel up from Devon to fly from Stansted to Turkey so we always come up day before, then we don't have to rush next morning Always a lovely welcome, we have had a different room each time, but always exceptionally clean and tidy. Lovely comfy mattress and pillows, fluffy towels. Ironing board n iron, tea and coffee facilities in room, TV and free WiFi all for a good price. Breakfast included next morning. Even have shower gel and shampoo in bathroom. Accessible disabled facilities are good. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Def recommend staying here. 🤩 Will be back next time

Cheap basic accommodation for 5 min drive to airport. Advertised hotel opposite-this doesn’t serve food. Better hotel was Lamb and Lion two blocks away-lovely. Fish and chips -walk around the corner or Kebab van opposite.

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its...

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. The roads in and around are lined with cars that have been parked there by people who have gone on holiday but don't want to use the exorbitant and overcrowded parking at the airport.

We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5...

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.

Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

The bell was not working waiting long for someone to come at the door , asked if was staying for i night or 2 nights then was just put in a room without a lock was so scared the whole night I kept my eyes open

Lovely little place, Michael and Linda were extremely gracious hosts, ready to help with anything and everything. The room itself is comfortable and full of character, and the self-service breakfast was varied and convenient. The option to park there for £7 a night while on holiday makes this a lovely alternative to chain hotels when flying from Stansted. We'll definitely use it again.

I had a layover to Stansted Airport and spent the night in the village. The room was fantastic with a pub, fish & chips restaurant and a grocery store not more than 2 min walk away. You can catch the bus just in front of the hotel which brings you straight to the airport within 5 minutes!

Close and cheaper than the expensive hotels and it's walkable if you know how to get there through the woods. There is a very good shuttle service though.
