This was just an overnight stop on our way to Islay from...
This was just an overnight stop on our way to Islay from Glasgow - we took an afternoon bus to Tarbert and got private transport to Kennakraig ferry terminal the morning after. The town was lovely, with a nice castle and a couple of good restaurants as well as a pub with plenty of whisky options. Ideal stop for Kennacraig ferry to Iskay. We were there with glorious sunshine so views of Tarbert habour were amazing, picture post card stuff. There are a few restaurants and pubs. Tarbert is still a traditional fishing village. Sadly the only bank has now closed and there are a few empty shops. But, there are some great restaurants and gift shops, beautiful scenery and this is perfect base to go sightseeing in the area. Right on the harbour. A tidy town and plenty of places to eat. I dined at Cafe Ca'Dora and while not flash, it impressed me becasue they had plenty of staff and the meal came promptly. I liked it so much I had dessert.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Lovely fishing village.
