Tavistock is a beautiful town. Steeped in history with a river walk. Drakes cycle/walk trail and the infamous pannier market. There are many places to eat and lovely shops. Tavistock is a lovely old market town, that still has a market - indoors and out. There are lots of places to eat and drink to suit different pockets. We ate well at The Cornish Arms where the staff were delightful. Tavistock is a good place to stay and use as a base to go in many different directions for a variety of experiences. There are fabulous gardens to visit nearby including Wiley at Wildside and the Garden House. There’s Buckfast Abbey, Dartmoor National Park, Plymouth and so much more.
