Lovely place to visit, The Abbey is a must, a walk around the back streets is recommended, so many old houses & buildings, I don't think any of them had a proper even roof , The walk along the river is lovely, some very nice coffee shops on the way, some over looking the river, so very leisurely, I would say the only downside we found was the amount of traffic on the main road , so make sue to use the crossings.Guest review byKenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Having driven past Tewkesbury on the M5 more times than I care to recall, it was chosen as a geographical half way point for a meet up with friends. So impressed, I immediately returned for another visit with my wife. Tewkesbury is perhaps a hidden gem if interested in history. Countless historical and attractive buildings in the main streets; a good Battlefield walk (1471 - War of the Roses) across adjacent fields with information panels throughout and leaflet (£1) from Tourist Information office ; Beautiful Abbey; Riverside walks and pleasant boat trips; Museum and separate Heritage Centre, and a nature park for more walks, on the flood plain. The sitting room was large with a dining table and plenty of comfortable seating. It was clean and tidy on arrival and located in a quiet street only a very few minutes away from the High Street eateries, pubs Abbey and museums. Tewkesbury is a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed our stay here very much. The owner sent us clear instructions for accessing the building etc and responded to questions clearly and promptly.
