Great base for walking / cycling around the countryside. Drumlanrig Castle and Estate a must-see - plenty to do depending on the time of year including fishing on the Nith or visiting the Castle. Lovely location for exploring south west Scotland. Very close to Drumlanrig Castle amazing country walks and spectacular castle. Went to the beach at Carse which was great for dog walks.
