Settled in the Dartmoor national park, it is a very quiet and comforting get away. You can have a short walk with children from there as well as long ones. Plenty of nice activities in the hotel (boardgames, crocket, tennis, walks). The place is full of charm and history. The staff is extremely kind and efficient. They made the stay easy for a single parent, offering private dining. The kids menu was varied, delicious and decently priced. The restaurant was a treat for me as well.

Breakfast was very good, eggs, toast and smoked kippers with strong hot coffee. The history of Oxenham Arms is amazing. So many fascinating figures have stayed here. One of our hosts, John, was full of facts and anecdotes, obviously very proud of the place! We took his advice on a hike nearby and it was one of the highlights of our UK trip.

Excellent Staff. Attention to detail and service from the Heart. All Hotel Team Members very polite and courteous and very considerate. Grounds and Garden beautiful. Stunning plants and trees. We had a wonderful overnight stay in the annex at Cherryford House. We had a warm welcome and the annex had everything we needed for our one night stop over and was beautifully furnished. Walks onto the moors directly from the doorstep and wonderful pubs, cafes and shops in Chagford, a 12 minute drive away!

    This is a really beautiful area which is ideal for walking. It's very rural and miles from any main roads, so great if you like peace and quiet, but care must be taken when driving around the narrow lanes.
