A beautifully presented family-run B & B that gives you all the privacy you want or engagement with other travelers in the well-appointed common areas. Funnily enough, they get quite a few bookings and then cancellations from Australian travelers who mistakenly think they were booking for Torquay, Victoria, Australia rather than on the Devon Coast, UK. The family is delightful with dad being an excellent chef (breakfast eggs benedict was cooked perfectly), mum was so hospitable with great directions and suggestions with our walk to the harbor front and dinner, and the daughter who looked after us with checking in and at breakfast was just a breath of fresh air (good luck with your uni studies). I would definitely stay there again but this time for a few more days so we could take advantage of that inviting-looking swimming pool.

Nice Waterfront, large marina, but the town area was a bit tired. We drove to Brixham and thought it was possibly a nicer place to stay. Lovely meal at the quirky Mr Cook restaurant near to the Torre Abbey

I can see why Torquay gains the reputation as being know as the English Riviera. If you catch this place when the weather is nice, it is perfect to spend time there. A great selection of Restaurants, Bars and Cafe's to eat at and great to chill out admiring the views.

We have been to Torquay several times over the years and generally have always found it to be a great place to be based. We use public transport, and it is easy to get to all the places around the bay. We particularly love going to Brixham, Paignton, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth and places in their vicinity. The sand are also great for walking as are the promenades.

After a year in East Anglia the hills came as a bit of a shock. After day 3 we didn’t notice the ups and downs and enjoyed our daily walks. Rockfish? Served a brilliant meal and particularly enjoyed reminiscing over the charts of Trincomalee. Colombo and South Africa which are displayed on the inside wall.

The shopping is extensive, as can be expected from a Holiday resort area, with local shops as well as main brand chains. The Wetherspoons pub in the town entre served well prepared meals and a great range of beers. Once you are in the bay area it is all flat and easy walking, but some of the slopes out of the town are a little heavy going. I tried the coastal path and have to say you do need to be fairly fit to get through some parts of it. It is however, easy to get around the area with plenty of bus services and the Taxi services, given it is a holiday location, are reasonably priced.

The room was spacious, clean, equipped with plenty of drink options. Breakfast is offered however I didn’t have it myself but it smelt delicious. Raj was lovely, very friendly and asked about my evening out and how I’d enjoyed Torquay. Parking was behind the hotel and I was lucky enough to get a space and check in a little earlier than 3 which was most appreciated, will definitely be staying again:

Liked all, considering the hotel has only just been purchased by a n other, and from what I heard, major problems for them this summer with ‘problems’ they inherited. We had a lovely swim and hot tub Saturday afternoon, gt sleep and v good breakfast before we left. We will return if we have a n other occasion in Torquay that requires our need to stay over. Many thanks. Excellent location.

The hotel is the best we have stayed in in Torquay, we travel here at least once every 6/8 weeks to visit family. The staff were lovely, the hotel was immaculate, everything is to a high standard. Parking was easy. 2 minute walk to seafront, 20 minute walk into the main part of town. Well done everyone here, look forward to seeing you again soon.
