A lovely old hotel, beautifully restored. Very large rooms. Delightful staff. Right next to Taunton station. Perhaps the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at. No pretensions of being a palace, just really nice and comfortable

The owners went out of their way on New Year’s Day. They prepared and served mulled wine in the beautiful living room with a cozy fire for several of our friends and us. We also listened to oldies on the fantastic jukebox. The breakfasts were delicious.

Breakfast was beyond my expectations - I'm veggie and the alternative options were excellent. I also had an evening meal with a group of 20- served promptly and food again was delicious. Facilities in the room were great, hot chocolate, tea and coffee end biscuits. Overall I great place to stay.

    It was absolutely perfect for us and our dogs, it had an...

    It was absolutely perfect for us and our dogs, it had an enclosed garden out of a door from the lounge. They also had a large area for exercising the dogs and provided a poo bin. The dogs loved that they provided a water bowl on a mat and a pot of dog treats. For us, the owners had gone the extra mile and provided everything we needed, and nothing was too much trouble. Planning our trip next year.
