What a lovely hotel. Clean, modern room w/separate bathroom. Everything you'd need in your room. Lady in bar was attentive & friendly as was the lady on duty in the breakfast room. Full table service & whatever you like to order from the menu which included juices, hot drinks, cereals, yoghurts, full English & the usual fare. Free parking area across road exclusively for the hotel guests. Location wasn't right in town but I am used to walking so it didn't bother me. Just saying in case someone has mobility issues.

Whitby is a lovely fishing village with an interesting harbour and lots of good fish restaurants. It has lots of interesting little gift shops and jewellers many of which sell the famous Whitby jet. For the young at heart there are the 199 steps which lead up to the famous Whitby Abbey or for others you can park your car and just stroll to the Abbey.

Whitby is a fabulous, traditional English seaside town with lots of lovely views and places to visit. A great self restaurants and cafes with some excellent fish and chip shops. A perennial seaside favourite of ours over the years, always busy but not too commercialised. A great beach. Access to other resorts eg Saltburn, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Scarborough is available by public transport and there is the opportunity to ride on the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway. Plenty of things to do for all ages. The open topped bus will take you up to the abbey ( and Abbey Brewery with its outside sitting area) if you don’t fancy climbing the 199 steps up there. Plenty of great fish restaurants, our favourite is Mr Chips on Church Street ( don’t be put off by the name, it’s excellent). The Angel Hotel ( a Wetherspoons) is always good value and provides good value accommodation. There are also Indian, Thai, Italian and Turkish restaurants to choose from. Choose your accommodation carefully if anyone in your party has walking difficulties as Whitby is quite hilly in places and there are lots of steps up (and down) to some properties and cobbled streets to negotiate.

Slippery cobblestones but handrails to hold on to. Suitable places to eat/drink coffee or tea. Whitby Abbey walled so that you have to pay to see the site. Absolute commercialism! Probably worth a one-day visit.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Car was parked at hotel. Room was very clean, in fact sparkling clean. Amenities in the room were also very welcoming. Rooms was serviced every day. Breakfast was exceptional. Lots of choice in both hot and cold with fruit juice, tea or coffee with toast served to your table. There is a bar/lounge for guests to use, with choice of beers etc served in can, and a good selection of spirits to choose from. We had a lovely time at this hotel, and we definitely intend to return there on our next visit to Whitby

The hotel was situated in a central part of the town and our room gave a good view of the harbour. The room was tidy and clean, the staff were very polite and informative about the facilities and I found the lady on the reception desk sociable and welcoming. The breakfast was as expected(hot and tasty)and set us up for the rest of the day. I would have no hesitation about using the Resolution Hotel the next time we have an overnight stay in Whitby.

Having read some reviews, we were a little wary. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a brilliant location, with views across Whitby and right in front of the whalebone arch. Our room was very clean, comfortable and a good size. We opted for the sea view room and loved the views. There was a lovely lounge area to sit and have drinks, as well as an outdoor area. They were very dog friendly which was a great bonus.

What a fab find. Tucked away amongst a forest, this little cottage was a dream. Great amenities and only a short 10 min walk to the beach, bus stop, and easy reach to Sandsend and Whitby. Part of a larger estate with hotel / spa, there looked to be several cottages to choose from. Rooms were clean and fresh, great WiFi, and information about the facilities and local area. We will deffo be back.

I originally wanted to book a place in Robin Hood's Bay, though I booked within a week and didn't have many choices. This turned out to be a decent option. We were able to walk from the hotel into the center of Whitby (a long walk, but doable) and grocery stores (very short walk). Free parking was much appreciated.
