    The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along.

    The Thames is stunning and worth a stroll along. Sit and watch the birds, fish, boats, dragonflies, and people enjoying themselves. The Rose Revived Public House and Restaurant is not for fine dining but you can have a wonderful meal and a lovely drink in nice surroundings. The willows and gardens are lovely. The waitresses like Ella are well trained and full of life.

    We enjoyed the gardens at Coggs.

    We enjoyed the gardens at Coggs. We ate outside at the Rowing Machine pub which was in the shade, very comfortable and our grandchildren played very happily in the playground and grounds. We tried to charge our Electric mobile home on a Sunday evening which was in the Lidl car park but there was nowhere nearby to sit whilst it was charging and nowhere to have a coffee and wait. Costa coffee in the Travel Lodge across the roundabout was closed and we tried to get a coffee and use the toilet at The Oxford Whitney Hotel the other side of the roundabout but were ordered off the premises by the security guard. I eventually used the toilet in the mini Waitrose supermarket and petrol station opposite Lidl.

    Always impressed with the gastronomy in Witney.

    Always impressed with the gastronomy in Witney. The eateries are always great, haven’t found one that doesn’t serve good fresh food The village itself is quaint and quiet and the surrounding area is delightful

    The walls were a bit thin within the room I occupied (I went to bed early after a long drive), so maybe worth asking for a quiet room for those who want complete silence on their stay. Apart from this very minor point, the stay was excellent. Really impressed with the relaxed atmosphere, the staff and the overall cleanliness and layout of the room. I will book again the next time I travel to Witney.

    Witney is a great little town, although it does get very busy around rush hour and at the weekend. There are plenty of good places to eat (I would recommend the Blue Boar) and a nice variety of shops as well as a cinema. Use it as a base to explore Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds. You won't be disappointed.

    Location was perfect. The hotel itself was fantastic, including every member of staff that we met. The food in the hotel/pub restaurant was next level, a really amazing surprise and the quality of ingredients (and the actual meals) was brilliant. If you're looking for a base from which to explore the Cotswolds and/or Oxfordshire, that's peaceful, great value for money and has amazing food, drink and staff, look no further than the Bird in Hand!

    The house was absolutely perfect, so clean, spacious and luxurious! Has everything you could need and more! My family and I had a wonderful couple of days here, it's a beautiful family home with lots of space! Kitchen is incredible and the beds were all so comfortable. Really kind of Terry to leave some bits for us which really helped. Co-op just 3 mins away and a beautiful location for Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and surrounding areas!

    Excellent hotel/pub, room was very comfortable with large bathroom/wet room good range of teas & coffee machine. Very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast and restaurant. Convenient location not only for Oxford, but also the surrounding area, Thames Path etc. Highly recommended.

    4 poster bed! Great decor. Clean, comfortable, super snug overnight stay in Witney Town centre. Parking in courtyard on site, tricky entrance from the mini roundabout and not lots of space but enough for 5 cars. Walking distance into town.
