Loved Woodbridge. So friendly and quiet. Very interesting history re the museum, the long ship and the Tide Mill. Loved walking along the River Deben, spotting the two sisters. Sutton Hoo is a must. Great eating places, Marlowe’s, The Anchor - very good meals. Loved the church and the architecture and history of the whole area, houses and fantastic shops too. A beautiful town with some interesting old buildings. There were plenty of places in which to eat and drink. Pub prices were a bit expensive, though. We used Woodbridge as the center point to visit Framlingham...
We used Woodbridge as the center point to visit Framlingham and Great Glennham and Sutton Heath and the coast. if we had stayed a little longer we could have spent more time in each place and have had time to see everything in Woodbridge. We did not get to the Tide Mill and could have spent more time just walking around town to see all there was to see. And with more time we could have walked to Sutton Hoo instead of getting a ride. An attractive town, convenient for visiting Sutton Hoo and its Anglo-Saxon treasures (a short taxi ride from Woodbridge Station), as well as the wider area. A good rail service from Ipswich and the mainline. It was easy to find and enter via a secure key box which the host provides the code for. The place was clean, beds were really comfortable and the outside patio was a perfect place to read, especially in the hot weather. Alix was a kind host who greeted us as we arrived and provided fresh milk in the fridge and shower gel, which was a nice touch.
