    “The Snug” was a gem of a find. Exactly as described. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with friendly hosts. The location was ideal for visiting many places around the North Yorkshire area, both costal and countryside . I look forward to a return visit.

    If your after a lovely quiet time away from the noise of...

    If your after a lovely quiet time away from the noise of life then this cottage is perfect. My wife and I would definitely stay again. Our 2 cocker spaniel loved it too. Your not too far away from the coast either. Also a nice friendly pub a 5 minute drive away.

    Although our stay gave the rest we needed, I could happily have stayed a few more days. The pub was in process of being refurbished which I am sure will be lovely but the cottage was so well equipped there was no need to eat out. Lovely walk in Wykeham Woods and we enjoyed walking along the old railway track to Hutton Buscel and to Ruston. Lots to do and only 11 miles from Scarborough and less to Pickering. Perfect location for a peaceful break away.

    Great location for visiting the area - mid point between Pickering and Scarborough - with lots of things to do and places to see. Wykeham itself is a small village but on the main road so easy to get to where you want making touring the area easy.

    The older parts of the village are really pretty and there are plenty of quiet country walks. Scarborough is a short drive away, as is Pickering, with many attracticve villages all around. Also a short drive away is North Moor with forest walks, wildlife and views.

    Lovely staff room nice food delicious what more could you ask for.. Only gripe dogs allowed in tuckers bar which is fine you are aware of that but when owners are too busy looking at their phones that their dog wanders off and decides to mooch around under your table not nice while your eating but that’s the owners fault not the hotels technology eh……put your phones down and talk to your partners instead it’s called socialising😂😂

    The hotel was lovely ,the room had 4 poster bed , matching furniture , the rest of the hotel was in keeping with the traditional look of the building , Thornton le Dale , Dalby forest , Scarborough,Whitby, was within the location , the staff lovely pleasant ,and helpful, food was excellent , I would recommend the Yorkshire Breakfast, the evening meals were also very good and reasonable price ,
