The beach is the longest sandy beach on Aegina which is predominately lovely sand there are some mixed stones and sand at the far but nothing to bad. The water is shallow and mainly calm wit a big sand bar a few meters out I would say very safe for children The sunbed range in quality and price ranging from 20 euros a set with parasol to 12 euros which obviously also is based on location and convenience to the beach bars and taverna's. Agia Marina is great.
Agia Marina is great. I have been there many times and will go back next year. Nikos beach bar is the best place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many places to eat and drink. We weren't looking for nightlife so I have no idea about what is available but the bars were very nice. The sandy beach is lovely and the water is shallow for a long way out so great for children. There are well stocked supermarkets, a great pharmacy and a lovely bakery. Basically everything you need for a simple beach holiday. People are very friendly. A trip to the Temple of Aphaia is highly recommended. You CAN walk (we did) but I wouldn't recommend it if you are not used to really steep hill walking. Taxis and buses will take you there. We always enjoy our stay in Agia Marina and will keep going back.Guest review byCassiGreece - 8.0

Lovely, long, sandy beach - clear waters and safe swimming. Lots of bars, cafés and restaurants along the beach and on the Main Street. Two supermarkets. Cute little harbour - three ferries to and from the mainland daily. I have only visited in May and September when presumably it is a little quieter than it is in full summer and tend to use the sunbeds at Ocean Beach bar as they are good quality and service is excellent there. The best cocktails are at the Paradise restaurant on the beach and the best place to eat is Thymari restaurant. The best coffee and friendliest welcome is at CaféZil on the Main Street. A perfect little place for a relaxing beach holiday. Easy to get there with a ferry from Athens in 30 minutes. The little port is close to everything. There are different types of beaches to choose from. Our favourite restaurant was Kaliva. Beautiful area quiet, just want we needed. All shop owners so friendly and polite too. Best taverna in the area would suggest 100% Kyriakakis right on the front, overlooking the sea, absolutely gorgeous. Food delicious, every dish we ordered better that the next. My adult daughter and I stayed 3 nights and the apartment was perfect for our needs. Within 8-10 minutes walk there is a supermarket, bakery, shops, restaurants and beach with sun beds. We were looking for couple of days to relax while visiting Athens and this place in Aegina exceeded our expectations. We didn’t drive and found everything very easy to access. Rooms are dated but bed linen is changed every day and the room and bathroom cleaned daily. Lovely spot close to superb beach. Buses run from the main road to Aegina Port.
