A pleasant city, everyone we met was friendly and helpful, small enough to be able to walk to all the amenities we needed. Loved the promenade (including the dance festival that was happening while we were there). Found an excellent bar (Kerouac) just round the corner, and minimarket opposite. The city is very charming, but unfortunately quite dirty. I wouldn’t recommend wearing white shoes, as they’ll quickly be covered in dust. It seems the municipality doesn’t put much effort into maintaining the cleanliness of the city. However, the people of Alexandroupoli are incredibly kind and welcoming. Some of the older residents may come across as a bit abrupt, but this is likely due to the language barrier rather than any ill intent. Apartment has good location, has dedicated parking place just on the spot. Clean, well-equipped, nicely decorated. The host was very helpful on the phone, recommending restaurants, bars, shops. Also, e-mail communication with the host was excellent, immediate answer to all my questions. Getting keys - very easy, perfect photo instructions from the host.
