Almirida has not changed much in the last 20 years. Some great Tavernas right on the beach and the beach itself is sheltered and safe for swimming. Although on some occasions it can get a bit windy. Almyrida is a really small and quiet village. No crowds of tourists and no loud bars. Just a beautiful sea, a peaceful main street, and very tasty taverns and restaurants (Psaros was the best). The location of the villa was perfect, uphill from the town, which made it a peaceful, relaxing holiday spot. There are plenty of tavernas a short walk downhill - perfect for an evening meal followed by viewing the stars from the balcony on our return. Small beach town with everything near by. All the restaurants we tried were good. You need to book for some of them. There are walks from the village which are quite hilly. it takes 20 mins to walk up to Plaka. Almirida itself is very flat. Good bus service to Chania. Beautiful views. The two beaches of Almyrida are just 5 min walk away which is important if small kids are involved. The supermarket is in the next building, the restaurants are also very close. The manager does everything to make everyone’s stay peaceful and comfortable. The rooms are super clean, the beds are very comfortable, the pool is just perfect and is open long. Even though I only booked for one person, my friend had to join last minute and they did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They helped us with all our last minute requests for amenities.
