Small and peaceful village for those seeking for peace and...
Small and peaceful village for those seeking for peace and relaxation. All the restaurants are near, you don't need the car unless you want to explore other villages and towns. Nice pebble beach with shallow water. Heraion was within walking distance from Ireon and is a must-see, if you are interested in history. From Heraion it wasn't too long way by foot to Pythagorion, about one hour walk (but after exploring Heraion and Pythagorion we came back to Ireon by taxi, which cost 13 euros). In Pythagorion you can find souvenirs and shops and it also has beautiful, authentic alleys. From Pythagorion you can take boat trips to other towns or Turkey. In Ireon there are just a few mini markets, a pharmacy etc. so if you want to buy clothes or souvenirs (other than postcards or something like that) you have to go to Pythagorion or somewhere else. Best restaurants: Akrogiali, Venetia and Cafe and Bar Idyli (the beach bar).Guest review byMiljaFinland
