All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Kato Daratso is a lovely beach location a couple of kilometers outside Chania centre which you can walk into along the beach in 15/20 minutes or take the bus which stops every 15 minutes at the top of the road and takes you in in 5 minutes for €1.20. The Theodosi restaurant is highly recommended. There are a number of supermarkets and pharmacies in the area. Vivid village with plenty of of restaurants and shops, even Lidl. There is car rental and also travel agency as well, in case you want a book an excursion. The beach is super sandy and there is surf/SUP rental. Tony helped us learn about the area with local recommendations so that we felt very comfortable all 3 days knowing where to go. The apartment is as beautiful as on the pictures, suits easily the company of 3 people, is really well equipped and stays cool during the day which is crucial during summer on Crete.
