Paleokastritsa comprises a number of mid to small sized "beaches" though some are no more than a few rocks or pebbles. The water, as with the rest of the island, is crystal clear and deliciously warm, ideal for snorkeling or diving. Paleokastritsa is very spectacular naturally beautiful little settlement. However, very touristy and somehow it might feel a little overwhelming. The easily accessible beaches can be overcrowded. Came for a family wedding so only a short stay for us with limited time to explore. Especially enjoyed its peaceful and picturesque location. The beaches were only small therefore could get a little overcrowded. I also felt they could have been cleaned better ie cigarette stubs in the sand. At times some of the paving steps could do with maintaining better. Some lovely restaurants serving simple Greek food cooked well.
