Beautiful old style hotel with spacious apartments immaculately clean. The property is right on the beach & though we couldn’t see the beach from our first floor balcony (look at trees) it was a 1 minute walk across the sand. Great hospitality from the hosts - we would definitely stay again

We received a really warm reception from Georgia who along with Georgia no.2 made our stay so enjoyable. Our apartment with hot tub in the original part of the Retreat was amazing with views out across the white mountains...breakfast in the new building was really well done and an off site taverna just up the hill was fantastic. My wife and I travelled with our two dogs 🐕 and stayed for three nights. The Retreat is only about a ten minute drive down into Sougia with its long wide pebble beach ⛱️ with views out across the Libyan Sea....the village itself has an ATM mini market and a few traditional Cretan tavernas. On our last day we were leaving by boat and I had forgotten my WiFi device....ten minutes later Georgia had arranged for it to be delivered to the port....a really special place with special people ❤️...we loved it !

The apartment We had apartment 2 on the second floor. The apartment consisted of a bedroom, bathroom, living room/kitchen and two balconies. The rooms appeared brand new and were extremely well maintained. The apartment was very well equipped with everything we needed, including owen, fridge, freezer, coffee maker, nespresso machine and sofa bed (for out daugther). The only thing we missed were a few more pegs to hang clothes on, but that's a minor quibble. When we visited it was 35 degrees, but the air conditioning system cooled down the apartment within a few minutes. We had a rental car, and there are parking spaces right outside the house. Cleaning Sparkling clean. Never stayed overnight somewhere that has been cleaner. The apartment was cleaned daily during our stay, including clean bed linen and towels. Location The apartment is located on the hill above the city centre, and the view over the city is fantastic. It takes approx. 10-15 minutes to walk into the city centre. Service The hostess was helpfulness itself. Always cheerful and concerned that we had a good time. During the stay there were several surprises, including olive oil and raki. Superb service!
