Alonnissos has great beaches, excellent food (traditional and modern), nice weather and a few folklore and antiquities (mainly on the Ottoman period, while some underwater archaeological sites are developing right now). Alonnisos and Patitiri is one of our favorite islands in Greece. This is the fourth time we have visited the island and there will be another visit next year. Here, life still goes smoothly, little stress, not overcrowded with tourists. And then they have the "best" Greek restaurant "OSTRIA" we have experienced in our 29 years of holidays in Greece. The island is great and would definitely recommend visiting it. The food was pretty expensive and we didn't have many great options either, a lot of places are tourist traps with bad quality of food and expensive prices. I would recommend Astrofegkia, Fanari and Dendrolimano because they have very nice food, but they were pretty expensive too. You should definitely visit Milia Beach (not Chrisi Milia), it is beautiful! It was very clean and excellent value for money whilst not being luxurious. Our room was quite small but perfectly appointed… there are other larger rooms with larger balconies which I’m sure you can request if needed.
