Hotel is on a perfect location right on the Plakias beach. The breakfast is good and you have variety of food. Room was clean, unfortunately we don't have nice view. The woman from reception Violeta was very polite and helpful. Hotel have sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach and there are free.

We were among the first guests at Amènte Mindful Suites and had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious, super clean and beautifully designed in earthy tones that truly help you relax. The highlight was definitely the private pool right outside our room, but we also enjoyed the shared pool area — perfect for unwinding with a delicious cocktail. The common areas are lovely, the breakfast felt homemade and fresh. Irene & Chara at reception were incredibly helpful with local recommendations. The location is also ideal, very central and a great starting point for exploring the beautiful surrounding area. Highly recommended!

We only stayed here for a day as we had to check out of our villa early in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that we could check-in at 10am which was earlier than most hotels. It was cheap and worth the money we paid. The bedroom and bathroom were very basic, but clean, and the shower worked well. The location is excellent and is just steps from the beach and restaurants.

It is in a super quiet surrounding, still 2 minutes from the sea. Staff was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast served was varied and plentiful. There's a rooftop swimming pool which has a nice view of the sea as well (although we didn't use, just went to have a look). Spacious room, comfortable bed. Thanks

Lovely welcome, room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Really nice view from our balcony and short walk to the main shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was also really nice. Would recommend anyone who is thinking of staying here to book in good value for money.

    A very good base for very many superb beaches in southern Crete, with a nice beach within the town, some great shops and very good eating options both within the town and the surrounding villages. Not spoiled by mass tourism as many other places in the island, yet neither too remote and hard to reach. Just perfect.

    Plakias is a small town, out of the way and just what we like. Reminiscent of Katelios on Kefalonia but a much bigger beach, with a quite well catered for naturist section at the southern end with two sunbeds and a parasol for EUR 9 per day or space to bring your own. The central to northern beach is mostly sunbed city but in this case the sand and sun are so hot you really need them. In late August, the sea was mostly calm but the wind can get up and waves got fairly strong at times. I visited the beach bar daily for liquid refreshment and the local beer mamos is perfect and EUR 5 for 500ml(?) seemed fair at this remote location. There is a small section of shops, bars and restaurants at the north end f town. We particularly liked Sofia's restaurant due to it's shorefront location, but we had nice meals elsewhere too. The area round the shops has been prettied up with a colourful fountain that children enjoyed playing in. Although hilly and winding roads dominate the whole region, the main street through town is a steady incline and no problem for most people. Photos are taken from the southern end of the beach.

    Plakias has a very pleasant beach-side walkway, good restaurants close to the beach,, a choice of supermarkets if needed, and a variety of hotels/resorts to suit different budgets. There is also the option of a naturist beach at the eastern end, and various boat or coach excursions are possible. It needs a proper bus station, instead of a patch of waste ground with no facilities as at present. A few years ago there was at least a kiosk from which tickets could be bought and timetable information was available. Bus to Rethymno for a day out costs 5 euro each for a 45-50 minute ride past wonderful gorge scenery.

    There are plenty of places offering food and drink.

    There are plenty of places offering food and drink. We particularly liked Veranda, Ostrako, Sweet Creations and of course we had to visit Takis at Muses who genuinely remembered us from our previous visit 3 years before! Kri Kri, Kyma and Gialos also worth a visit. We did not have enough days to try all of the others! From traditional to modern. A very friendly place. A nice long level promenade which is an easy walk and which has been nicely paved. A long beach but is more shingle than sand. At the far end of the beach you can take the side roads and walk uphill if you need a bit more of a stretch. These connect back to the town. Beach bars and sun beds along the length of the beach but do not clutter it. Short drives to Souda Beach and to Dimnoni and Ammoudi Beaches - you have to have to have lunch at Chyma Sto Kyma at Ammoudi! It can sometimes be very windy on Crete and Plakias is no exception. Sometimes the drains can whiff a bit but you just move on! There are not many things specifically for children to do but highly recommend a visit.

    We were there for three nights.

    We were there for three nights. Village has a number of food shops / supermarkets, sufficient for you to self cater if you choose not to eat out. We didn't visit the village beach but drove east and enjoyed our time there.

    The main beach isn't that great but just a few kilometres...

    The main beach isn't that great but just a few kilometres away at Ammoudia there are three great sandy beaches. There are plenty of good eateries in Plakias, all with great views of the sea, and a few bars. Prices are just right for this area. The scenery around Plakias is breathtaking, even though you can walk from one end of the town to the other on a fabulous level walkway. If you are in a wheelchair like me it is just perfect.

    The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet spot, surrounded by cliffs. It features a private, sheltered rocky bay ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The breakfast and dinner were both good, and there are plenty of activities, such as diving, yoga sessions, and evening entertainment. It’s also an excellent base for exploring the southern coast, whether by rental car or through the many organized trips offered by the hotel. For those who enjoy hiking, both Plakias and Amundi Beach are reachable by foot.

    This was our second stay at Plakias Bay in 5 years, improved in many ways from the previous one. The rooms were renovated, the attractive and tasteful breakfast was expanded to a full day service, with lunch and dinner, which is a very convenient addition. As best holiday memories are the spectacular vistas from the restaurant's garden and room's balcony and the nice atmosphere in the hotel when interacting with the owners and the young and friendly personnel.

    Beautiful hotel located on the sea coast at 500 mt from the centre of Plakias. Our room was large and comfortable and it also had a small kitchen. It was the second time I slept in this hotel and I really recommend it. The quality/price ratio is very high.
