Very clean, comfortable, modern. Location was great, access to all restaurants and beach. The appartement had multiple balconies to choose from which is a huge plus for me. The cleaning lady who tidied up every day was very nice as well. Thank you Athina Suites for a perfect family vacation.

The location in proximity to the beach was absolutely amazing. Having a pool and beach on site was a great asset for our family, especially on days when we did not want to travel too far. Our room was located right in front of a wonderful playground that our young kids really enjoyed. This hotel had everything a young family could need.

Amazing place to stay in Platanias! There’s our overview in short: 1. Host: Kristina is the greatest hostess in the world. She is super friendly, gave us all the information we needed for the things we would like to do. We felt so welcome and all our needs and requests were met by her with so much kindness and her recommendations were extremely helpful for us! 2. Apartment: - located in the centre of Platanias with everything in very short walking distance about 3-5 minutes you get to supermarket with reasonable prices, bus station, restaurants, shops etc. - great interior design; - so clean; - very well equipped; - free WiFi connection; - amazing balcony with great view on the sea! 3. Sea: approximately 2 minutes by walk from the apartment. Sand and pebble beach with breathtaking view to an island with goats Kri-Kri. This is definitely the right place to stay if you're planning a trip to Platanias! We would happily come back to this beautiful apartment again and again!

    We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

    Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

    I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

    The accommodation is really beautiful and comfortable. It's very tastefully appointed and has everything you need. As others have said it's a wee oasis of calm Lots of really nice restaurants literally a stone's throw away. Riza across the road was wonderful. The pool was delightful to cool off in. It's a great base to see lots of the west of Crete. We particularly liked getting out of the busy areas and up into the hills or along the west coast.

    We liked it because it's a simple place, but it has everything we need, the staff are very kind, she made the best pizza for us. We walked to the main street and there are bars, supermarkets, restaurants, entertainment for everyone! We saw a beautiful sunset in front of the beach! :D We recommend renting a car if you want to go to the center of Chania, or to different beaches, caves, there is always parking nearby.

    Perfect apartment for a couple, Platanias centre, practically two steps from the beach, you have everything you need around you. Bus stop 100 meters away. Perfect location to visit, Balos, Falasarna, Elafonissi, Palaiochora, and Chania (we had a rental car). Katerina is super kind, helpful, and always there if you need anything. For us, it was 5 stars.
