We were in Rhodes for two weeks, we were a group of 9 and...
We were in Rhodes for two weeks, we were a group of 9 and everyone loved staying there. We toured the island, spent time in Old Town, which was amazing and in Lindos…and the Acropolis was amazing…so beautiful. As well we toured through small towns, and did a day trip to Symi and a day trip to Marmarais, loved them both but Symi was outstanding. We shopped til we dropped, dined out all around Old Town and Rhodes, enjoyed the beaches, had a fabulous night at Rhonda…with Abba music and more. We enjoyed dinners at many restaurants. The perfect place to stay. Very interesting places to visit. Near the old town you can find two bus lines. With one line (KTEL) you can visit the east side of the island and second one (different company) can visit the west side (Airport, Butterfly 🦋 etc). Cost can be from a few Euro or around 10 Euro. Further more you can take sea lines to visit other islands. In Restaurants inside the old city when you ask for a small bottle of water which can cost around two Euro, they bring you instead a mineral water and charge you 4.50 Euro. Noisy dirty and totally tourist trap. What used to be a charming and cultural rich town has sold its soul to mass tourism. There is rubbish everywhere, plenty of shops that ONLY sell touristic items. There’s nothing authentic left here. Even restaurants are horrible and serve mediocre food. We paid around £65 per room for one night, with breakfast included. For that price I don’t think I could have a single complaint. Staff were friendly, rooms were fairly basic but clear and pretty modern, beds were comfy and location was very good. We did’nt use the pool, but the sunbeds looked like the comfiest I’ve ever seen, with about 1 foot thick pillows / toppers on them. Breakfast lovely and plentiful. Hotel in the centre of Old Rhodes town, it is in the centre to see and do everthing. But it was so quiet on a side street that u had a Comfy sleep, and did not get disturbed. Fridge in room. With water and some mythos. Nice touch. Plus coffee. A great hair dryer that was handy.
