Amazing staff that made you feel so welcome. They gave us breakfast on arrival and provided us with towels for the pool until our room was ready. The staff can't do enough for you. They are so kind and go out of their way to ensure you have a lovely experience. It really makes all the difference. Rooms were great, with lovely thoughtful additions, like a welcome bottle of wine and home made lavender pouches with the towels. One room had a huge balcony with sun loungers and a hot tub, which was an amazing surprise. Would definitely recommend and stay again

Syra Suites was an amazing accommodation choice. We found the rooms and all facilities to be very clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed the frequency of the cleaning services as well--every day to empty all garbage cans and every other day to clean and provide fresh towels. We were there for a week and they changed our sheets at least once, maybe even twice. We also loved the proximity to Achladi Beach, a cute little cove-like beach a 2 min walk away. It was a great location otherwise too--not more than 20 mins away from anywhere we wanted to go. We liked being a little outside of Hermoupolis as we were able to experience a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere. Ms. Elpida was very kind upon check in, providing us with plenty of recommendations and information about the island. We even received a welcome basket of coffee, juice, some little toasts, jam etc., and an adorable package of loukoumia at check-out. We will recommend the hotel to anyone we know traveling here, and if we make our way back to Syros, we will definitely be back too!!

Elia Syros has excellent facilities and is quite modern. I really enjoyed staying there and you have the feeling you are at home. It has all the amenities you may want and even more. It is located in walking distance from Vari beach, which is quite good. The peace and quiet is priceless. I highly recommend it to everyone who is exploring the beautiful island of Syros and will definitely visit you soon...

This is an exquisite property in an idyllic location on Syros island. The owners and staff were exceptionally helpful and catered to us constantly! Full marks and bravo to owners and staff of Aktaion hotel! Location was superb right on the waterfront of Ermoupolis many rooms enjoy unlimited sea views of bay and the hills above making it a postcard perfect location. This is a very historic aristocratic mansion kept in excellent condition a perfect blend of traditional style with modern facilities and comforts. Professional staff very knowledgeable with spot on recommendations for sightseeing restaurants and more, truly every advise was with no doubt excellent! Breakfast was very generous, very tasty large portions and great variety of choices. Excellent location service and atmosphere will be back for sure! The top shared balcony is postcard perfect ! Thank you Aktaion hotel for a perfect stay !

    Peaceful friendly location, a shadow of its former self however green shoots for the future evident, the services that remain are perfect for a peaceful get away with a wide shallow sheltered bay that gently merges into the crystal clear blue waters. However for a more sophisticated yet more affordable experience a short walk to Achalida a smaller beach formed around a little harbour where you will find Emily’s Hotel and beach cafe a family run establishment serving great lunches snacks and drinks at reasonable prices with a warm welcome for all including non residents, it is clear why so many people return year after year. At the other end of the beach you will find a higher end restaurant that serves fine dining and a good range of cocktails and local beers.

    Vari is a nice bay to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather...

    Vari is a nice bay to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather and food. It is small, and I was impressed by the fact that the beach was adapted for the handicapped - so they can enjoy bathing in the sea as well! I ate at the hotel and at nearby restaurants, with the staff being very friendly in both places, and the food very good.

    Fantastic beach.

    Fantastic beach. Wonderful soundscape -- wind in the old pine trees, bells, birds. Amazing food -- even for Greece, the quality was just out-of-this-world. Really uncrowded, too, though we were visiting during high season. Beyond Vari, we loved Ermoupoli, which is only 5-10 minutes away -- with its wonderful shops (Sandalia, Kritsinas George), restaurants (Seminario), cultural spaces (the Archaeological Museum!) & coffee (Plastico!).

    It has a clean beach, 3 restaurants on the beach, a beach bar, 2 mini markets, nice beach view, calm waters. You can stay all day long, every day, and whenever you get bored (because you will), the rest of the island is 10-20 minutes away. Vari is in the middle of every destination.

    Vari is a small beach with two restaurants and three cafe's/bars and two convenience stores. It is about 15 minutes from Ermopolis and has a bus stop with regular bus service. The beach is protected from the north-east winds and has excellent clear water. Vari beach is popular with families.
