It’s a small seaside town that might be more of a summer destination as in winter it was a little dull, many shops closed. Xylokastro is a lovely town with nice beaches and a lot of nice restaurants and shops. You can enjoy a swim during the day at the main beach near the marina or at Pefkias in front of the forest and at night you can stroll along the beachfront and sit down at nice restaurants, ice cream shops and bars. We will not return as really nothing much to do.
We will not return as really nothing much to do. Beach areas are all rocky or stones. Some beach side facilities but not much choice. The town is a bit sad with no shops other than 4 or 5 chemists ? no real atmosphere or character.
