In a beautiful spot on the lake with great views and areas to chill. Our room was really cute and cosy and it wasn’t too noisy despite being near the social area. Bathrooms were tidy and the family dinner was nice! Great atmosphere

The friendliest host in the quiet calm location of Jaibalito. The place was just renovated and it definitely has a charm to it. Many spots to sit down and either get some work done or have a good read of your book or one of the books they keep on display. Kitchen is available for food prep and there are grocery stores less than a minute walk away. Great vibe! Would've stayed here longer if I had known about it prior to booking my next stay.

Lovely lodge near Santa Cruz, the Transportation from the dock to the lodge worked flawless. The staff is very friendly, helpful and fast (thanks again to Viandy, who did an amazing job and also booked for us the transportation from Gua city to the dock and back). We also enjoyed the free SUPs and Kayak. The vegan restaurant was amazing. We had the Thanksgiving dinner and some breakfasts and they tasted delicious. All in all it's an amazing location, very quiet and we really enjoyed it.

Thanks to our lovely host Lee, we stayed in the beautiful Casa Balam in a hummingbird filled garden beside the lake. Perfect small villa appartment for a couple, with cooking facilities. Early morning kayaks along the lake shore, clear water to swim in. We are definitely coming back.

We loved our spacious room and the high ceilings, the beds were very comfortable. The location is great, a short walk to the Santa Cruz dock. We personally love dogs, so theirs made our stay even better. The owner was helpful.

    The town is up a steep hill so be prepared for some exercise or take a tuk tuk! Gorgeous views! Take a cooking class there like we did! Laid back town, not a lot to do or many restaurants, but a more authentic town that supports its Mayan locals with local wares and cuisines.

    A lovely little town with a wonderful cooperative, CECAP, that has a great store with woven items and a delicious café up on the roof with a fantastic view. Don't miss the 16th century church in the plaza and there are some great murals around the town.

    It's my favorite village on the lake.

    It's my favorite village on the lake. Lots to do, good food, easy to access via lancha or good walking trails, English speaking hosts at most places, an amazing and supportive initiative for the local Mayan population at Cecap through Amigos de Santa Cruz. What is less than ideal is that all the restaurants require a reservation and dinner service is around 7. If you are located some distance from the 3 restaurants, it is very dark at around 6 and walking on uneven, unpredictable trails is very precarious unless you have a very bright head lamp A flashlight won't do it. Regular meal service stops at 3:30 so that was our last chance every day for a meal. So take a substantial head lamp or locate yourself close to one of the restaurants if you want to go out in the evening.

    We stayed at Sunset Lodge as a base.

    We stayed at Sunset Lodge as a base. Good location with a jetty which helped in getting around. We had a guided tour on our second day which was excellent. Took in two of the villages with boat across the lake. Third day we walked around the lake for 30 minutes to the next village wher there was a lively local market and a very good restaurant with great views across the lake.

    Beautiful views of the lake, close to Panajachel. Rather quiet and not many options of restaurants and activities. There was a nice café/restaurant up in the village (you can take a tuktuk to go there) with good food and great views.

    A small, quiet town.

    A small, quiet town. For visitors there are a couple of hostels, numerous holiday homes and some options for dining out but visitors typically need to give notice ahead of time. Our family enjoyed a few meals at The Iguana Perdida and Holy Tortilla - both were great options and enjoyed by our family (toddler and teens included). We found the views from this town the most stunning and resting here was easy as it is quiet at night. If you prefer to be somewhere busy and don’t want to take a boat to get there, this is probably not the best fit for you. If you do book a casa in Santa Cruz, be sure to bring groceries from Pana as there are just small tiendas and minimal fresh foods for purchase.

    The property is located smack in the middle of a 900person village that is not yet fully engulfed in tourism. So this is an excellent choice if you plan to take village community life in from the Lago Atitlan. Additionally it is only a 30-45min walk to Santa Cruz passing by Isla Verde and Casa del Mundo so nice views on other hotels and resorts. The Art&Coffee is a place in the making with forthcoming friendly staff and ideas for the future. We cannot account for how they will turn out but wish the owners all the best in realizing them.

    This place is incredible. We stayed in the treehouse suite which has everything you could need for a short stay. The view from the hotel is beautiful. The architecture is amazing. There is a path at the side so you can take a little walk along the lake to the neighbouring town and pass all the other beautiful hotels and gardens. Staff were great. Only had soup and dessert at the restaurant but was also still very good. Highly recommend!

    A lovely hostel with lovely staff. The food served was fantastic and not too expensive. The location is very convenient to get to, right beside the boat dock. On-site activities were cool. The grounds were nice, with lots of space to lounge outside. The outdoor area was a great place to read and to watch storms across the lake. Easy to walk up or take a tuk tuk into Santa Cruz la Laguna town.

    The most amazing hotel. From the staff, to the grounds, to the food and the service, this hotel was the most wonderful place. My fiancée asked me to marry him there and there genuinely would not have been a more special surrounding. Astrid was also amazing as were all the staff we interacted with.
