FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Surrounded by turquoise waters, Dubrovnik Old Town sights include the picturesque Stradun, Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan monastery.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buses connect Dubrovnik Airport with the city centre, and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels, apartments, and guest houses throughout.

    Beautiful town but horrifically expensive.

Beautiful town but horrifically expensive. If you box clever you can find ways around the extortionate prices. However, it is a magical place full of lovely local people. Too crowded by the hoards of cruise ship daytrippers but once they are gone, the town gets a different and more relaxed vibe. Will definitely revisit but with a bigger Budget!

Dubrovinik is nice but you need to seeother places too, So 3 days around the city are enough. Spend time to explore the coastline of Croatia. As city is expensive, not that the other places we visited around DBK were any cheaper. If you have a car, prepare for a shock concerning the parking availability. You have to pay, everywhere, provided that you manage to find a spot. Howevere, it is a wonderful city, worth visiting and seeing.

It's just a wonderful old city with lots of interesting places the wall walk was great even with a walking stick. Outside the walls would recommend the tuk tuk trip, got to see the area around it, buy the pass for 1 or 3 days for buses and wall. Also the ferries from city harbour were good. The restaurants were everywhere inside and out, we had some lovely meals.

It is stunningly beautiful, we visited at the end of September expecting it to be less busy however there were literally thousands of cruise ship passengers doing tours all day. I think if I were to return it would have to be very early in the season or maybe even November!! We ate at a recommended restaurant just outside the Pile Gate called Dubravka, the food & service were very good & the price reasonable & the view was lovely. They were very knowledgeable about Coeliac Disease which was appreciated.

We had some extremely good food but the quality was variable even at the same restaurants, so it's a good idea to read reviews from other travellers carefully. ChatGPT found us the best ice cream and it was heavenly. We felt the museums, walls etc were very overpriced although it's amazing just walking around. Probably our best experiences were visiting the beaches and islands, the sea is a joy to swim in and you feel like Jacques Cousteau there are so many fish! Beach shoes recommended as the beaches are stony. And the destination is not good for anybody with mobility problems, there are steps everywhere. NB neither of us has seen Game of Thrones

    Loved Lokrum Island.

Loved Lokrum Island. Watching the sunset from Lapad was so peaceful. The cable car going up to Mount Srd wasn’t really worth it as it was very quick and packed with people so we couldn’t see much on the way up but was still worth seeing the views from the top - some people choose to take Uber to the top instead of cable car which is cheaper. Old town was really good to experience - very clean with lots of places to eat. A must try is Holy Burek and gelato from Peppino’s, Aroma and Mostro. Dinner at Gradska Kavana Arsenal was lovely. We also had a delicious and very well priced meal at Richeta. All of these places are in old down.

This beautiful spacious apartment is more like a private suite in a five-star hotel. It has two terraces, one of which offers a magical view of the sea, the old town of Dubrovnik and breathtaking sunsets over sea. Perfectly clean, modern and equipped with everything you need during your stay - and even more. We especially appreciated the bathrobes. Also the owner was very kind and helpful. We'll definitely want to come back.

    - staff member stayed back after realising our flight into dubrovnik was delayed and welcomed us with a very thorough and informative check in and took the time to talk through the hotel amenities as well as sights to see and places to eat. - location was excellent - situated within the old town and with only 10 or so steps to climb to access - very easy. - clean room and comfortable beds with pillows.

The Rixos is an amazing hotel, the views are incredible and is within walking distance of the Old Town (around 4 euro using Uber). The food was exceptional (we stayed half board) as was the service we received. The hotel was clean and the facilities are as you would expect of a 5 star hotel. The Spa was lovely and was totally worth a visit. A wonderful and memorable stay and we can't wait to go back.

Number 6 bus runs from by the hotel into the old town of Dubrovnik regularly which is really handy as there’s not much else around bar other hotel complex’s.
