We adored Hotel Kaštel. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Motovun is a wonderful place to stay.The room had superb double aspect views from the second floor. It was comfortable, with good air conditioning and calming decor. Highly recommended.

This apartment is well, modern and thoughtfully furnished. It has everything you need during your stay. The terrace has a beautiful view of Motovun. The owner is friendly and ready to help with storing your bikes or any other problems. In an emergency, you can fill your bikes with an air compressor. I recommend!

The hotel makes you feel welcome, more like you came to visit friends that just staying at a hotel. The staff goes out of their way to accomodate your requests and trusts you with anything, from bar to kitchen to use as you wish. Location in the heart of Motovun also couldn't be better. Breakfast is great and scrambled eggs with truffles a must, you're in the heart of the truffle country after all. Visiting the place in the winter proved the hotel is well heated, as opposed to many locations in the region that are great in the summer but lack proper heating. Everything is impeccably clean and friendly, so definitely one of the better holiday experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Prospect Motovun Studio. The apartment was beautiful, cozy, and perfectly located just next to Motovun, with amazing views of the surroundings. Everything was very clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was extremely kind and welcoming, which made our experience even better. Highly recommended!

Goran & Martina are very helpful hosts. The view of the balcony is amazing. It is the perfect place if you plan to go sightseeing around, as everything is very close, seaside as well as small beautiful villages around and even Italy. We will come back again.

We absolutely loved staying in this apartment right in Old Town Motovun. As others have said, and as described clearly in the listing, the apartment is on three levels with the bathroom on the lowest. This did not negatively impact our enjoyment - the apartment is so unique and well appointed! The outdoor terrace is a wonderful place to enjoy coffee in the morning or wine in the afternoon! Goran met us at the spot to park our car and then invited us for a drink inside as he shared his story and the history of the apartment. The walk up the stairs/hill to the apartment was as expected and again, part of what we loved about this authentic place. Goran gave good suggestions as to where to eat (did not disappoint) and other towns we may wish to visit during our stay (again, did not disappoint). Thank you, Goran, for being such a gracious host and making our stay in Motovun top notch!

Our stay at Villa Mayestic Eye near Motovun was absolutely wonderful! The villa is beautifully designed—modern, yet warm and inviting. Every detail is carefully thought out, from the furnishings to the decor, creating a true feeling of comfort and relaxation. The location is perfect: peaceful and surrounded by stunning views of nature and vineyards, yet just a short drive from the charming town of Motovun. It’s an ideal choice for anyone looking for tranquility with easy access to explore the Istrian region. We were especially impressed by the pool, the terrace and the fully equipped kitchen, the atmosphere, etc… and by the kindness and responsiveness of the hosts, who made sure everything ran smoothly during our stay. We wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anyone looking for high-quality accommodation with a touch of magic. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

    Great little town to walk around in. Great local wineries. Amazing local fruit stand as you make your way up the hill. He had the best selection of the most wonderful fruit and veggies. The ice cream was fantastic. Sampling of truffles and local alcohol without being pressured was amazing. Just fantastic hospitality overall shown by the locals.

    Motovun is a wonderful place full of history and unique charm, though travelers should know that almost all of the restaurants and bars are closed during the month of February. In February it resembles a ghost town.

    Beautiful ancient town with much to see and lots of great restaurants and shops. Not great for people with mobility issues of any kind. The walking is a bit of a workout. Very steep hills and cobblestone roads. Parking seems to be an issue.

    Motovun is a charming and almost fairy-tale like village on a hill. We felt like we had completely gone back in time; yet, we had easy access to almost all of the rest of Istria from there, including seaside towns, wine tasting, truffle hunting, olive oil tasting and local shopping. The furthest town was Pula. Everything else was more like 30 minutes. We are spending two weeks in Croatia and we are so thankful we spent three days/nights in Motovun as our hub for visiting Istria. Heads up: it is a lot of uphill walking on cobblestones to get into the center of town - but SO worth it.

    Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

    A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

    The house is very spacious, at a great location, 10m above the road. The parking is 50m away at a public parking along the road. The owner paid for the parking during the stay. The view on the valley is beautiful, the kitchen is fully equipped, we used the air conditioning for heating in the evening. We were cycling along Parenzano and Motovun is a good starting/end point.

    What a beautifull villa! The villa itself (spaceous, fully equipped, gorgeous, clean), the sizeable pool, the huge garden, but also the surrounding area (quiet and beautifull), with Motovun Centre in walking distance. There were even 4 mountainbikes available. Last but not least: The owners are very nice as well!

    Nena's house is wonderful. The views are beautiful, and she also has an outdoor table where you can eat. The walk to Motovun is a bit tedious; it's a 20-minute uphill walk, followed by a downhill walk on the way back. Nena was very kind.
