Great little town as it was in early 2000s has expanded (markets, fast foods, bars and ATMs every 100m) since my yung party times here :).... so dont expect butique local stone little town but place prepared for mass of party yungsters. It is a huge overcrowded party place during high season, and nice little town off season. Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.Guest review byMayaAustralia - 10.0

I went off season, but there were still some good bars and restaurants open. Nice beach in Gajca nearby, and a cool hiking area called "Life on Mars" jsut a 20 min drive away. Dont miss the Boskinac winery.Guest review byMartinSweden - 10.0

Biggest attractions in Novalja are the Adriatic sea and Zrce beach. The city should invest more into pavements for pedestrians, right now, pedestrians share the same roads as cars. Novalja is perfect for young peole (or those who like party, cocktails and fun :-) ) Is very good place for making party, nice sun bathing , swimming and also water sport like Jet Sky , Banana boat etc.. is available. You have to search for a bit to find a "fine-dining"...
You have to search for a bit to find a "fine-dining" restaurant, most of the food available are snackbars or other microwaved diners. Novalja is really close to Zrce-beach. This is a very cool clubbing area, make sure to bring some cash and be sure to go here at least once, it is amazing. We went a a party-boat from "Festini", this was a lot of fun and I do recommended others to also go on one of these party-boats. The beaches in Novalja are a lot of painful stones, I highly recommend "Babe Beach", a 30min walk(/5min drive), since the center of babe beach isn't stones but just sand. A lot better then the Novalja beach which is only stones. I don't recommend driving around in Novalja for fun, the streets are small with a lot of pedestrians on the street. It takes no more than 2 minutes to reach the beach. The breakfast is delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. The rooms are quite modern and comfortable, with large beds. The staff is very friendly and attentive with the guests. The rooftop jacuzzi pool is excellent, and there’s also an indoor spa option( open until midnight).
