This is a gem of a city.
This is a gem of a city. We love the pools at Aquarius, the zoo, and all the other places to go and see. Downtown has some pleasant areas and is easy to get around. Nyiregyhaza is a very nice 100K citizens Hungarian city.
Nyiregyhaza is a very nice 100K citizens Hungarian city. It's very clean, you can see that it's been taken good care of. Nice parks, sculptures, a mixture of cultures, great places to hang out or to go out for a portion of great food and drinks. It's also a university city and has a great zoo on the outskirts of the city. I'd say that it's also climatically and geographically situated perfectly well - just 2+hrs from Budapest (by highway), the nearest airport is in Debrecen which is some 80 km from Nyiregyhaza, neighbouring Ukraine and Slovakia (literally an hour's drive to each of the above mentioned), Tisa river is near, lots of water and forests. An amazing place to visit with family and friends, people...
An amazing place to visit with family and friends, people are kind, attractions are great. Huge outdoor park spa with indoor kiddie pools and other specialty ones. Animal park is huge, has elephants, giraffes, a restaurant, petting zoo and an oceanarium. The city center is not very interesting.
The city center is not very interesting. It's classic small Eastern Europe city and 3 hours is enough to see it all. Nyiregyhaza has great thermal spa, thermal lake and zoo, which I think are it's main attractions.Guest review byJulia IssajevaUkraine

The rooms were spacious, with a superb view of the lake. The zoo is right behind the hotel (btw, you need at least 2 days to fully enjoy everything it has to offer). The dinosaur theme is very appealing to the little ones. I also appreciated the indoor play area. At mealtime, I liked that allergens were listed next to each dish.
