Canggu has a nice mix of things for every age group.
Canggu has a nice mix of things for every age group. It has wonderful cafes (Milk and Madu), beach clubs (La Brisa), restaurants (Longtime; Lulu’s), clubs and bistros (Margaret bistro). There’s also yoga, fitness and spas. It ticks all the boxes. Just be mindful when ordering salads, vegetable juice or iced drinks from certain places, as the tap water is not potable. It is also a short distance away from Seminyak (which has a lot of shopping; our kid loves places like Stroberi, Kids à gogo and Candyland).Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Canggu has everything I look for in a Bali trip. Great waves for surfing cool beach clubs all-day cafés amazing food and some of the best spas I have ever tried. The vibe is laid back but still full of life. Everything is super close so you can walk or ride a bike and never get bored. One minute you are in a quiet rice field the next you are in a trendy restaurant or catching sunset at the beach. I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. Canggu is a crazy wild place too much traffic lots of young people all getting drunk. Lovely beaches but this is definitely for the 20-35 age range. The traffic is terrible it takes 30 minutes to go 1 mile you can walk quicker if it was a direct route and they had sidewalks which the scooters don't use to now drive on. Canggu, is very overrated.
Canggu, is very overrated. It is chaotic, so much congestion, & not really set up for pedestrians. You can’t swim in the beaches. The layout of the area is everywhere making it too hard to just walk around & find anything, you need to get a car or scooter to get to things & then you are stuck in traffic. We stayed for 9 nights (had paid a lot for the accommodation & we were with other people) but if you wanted to check it out, 2 or 3 nights would be the max. It’s very expensive & it’s just hard to see why this place is getting so popular, places like Nusa Lembongan, Sanur, Uluwatu & Seminyak are way better. I had been in Bali for a month switching between hotels and guest houses. The Hideaway provides the best of both worlds. Exceptionally clean and well maintained, it is walking distance of a few good cafes and the beach. There's ample parking for motorbikes. I like the fact that the room had both a fan and air conditioning. It's such a nice environment - quiet and away from the noise of the traffic.
