    Malang us a small city with a pleasant climate. Recently improved the city facilitys. Kajoe Tanggung is an area with a lot of cafes and eaterys. Very nice environment at night. For trips there are a few daytrips, which involves a lot of travel time.

    Travelled for work, have had many trips for 3-6 weeks in Malang this year. It is a lively city, very busy and densely packed. There are some good bars and restaurants for westerners to visit, it's worth asking around as places close and new ones open up so online guides aren't always accurate. Climate is always warm, either warm and dry, or warm and rainy! People are very friendly, and the cost of living is very cheap compared to western prices. Local food is good, can be quite spicy as they do like chillies.

    Nice places to visit, but lack of infrastructure.

    Nice places to visit, but lack of infrastructure. Mount Bromo, one of the best attractions is only reached by Jeeps, in fact, very old cars, no seat belt, no comfort at all, if you are more than 1.8 m tall, as me, you will be no room for your legs, and have to stary more than 5 hours like a sardine in a can. Too bad, the volcanos are wonderful and the beauty of the area breath taking.

    Standard King room really good, clean, spacious, comfortable and quiet. We stayed an additional night and switched to the 'Superior King with street view' which was very loud as the hotel faces a busy road. Would definitely recommend staying but not in a street facing room. Staff very friendly and helpful. FYI they don't do breakfast. Supermarket across the road is very well stocked. Not far from city centre walking (if you don't mind walking in Malang traffic) but you can easily get a taxi very cheap.

    A wonderful hotel which felt like you would stay in a museum. So much to explore! Very friendly staff - felt very welcome. For sure the best hotel in Malang which is the ideal location for a tour to the fantastic Tumpak Sewu Waterfall or a tour to Mount Bromo.

    All, especially our spacious room overlooking the Malang city/mountain. The breakfast are absolutely delicious, the menu change everyday. The hotel wouldn’t be better without friendly and helpful staff. We would like to come back once we are in Indonesia.
