    Medan is an interesting city with a mix of different...

    Medan is an interesting city with a mix of different cultures - Batak, Javanse Achenese, Chinese. There are some excellent restaurants - in the old China Town. I recommend Cambridge Mall for Restaurants and Cinemas. I also recommend visiting Berastagi , 3 hours by car. A charming Hill station where they grow beautiful flowers and fruits.

    Medan is a big, noisy, dusty city.

    Medan is a big, noisy, dusty city. Nothing to do here or no memorable sights, although the mosques are pleasant to lok at. Enough shopping malls though to pass a day. Easy to get around as GRAB. Non meat eaters can find it difficult to find somewhere good to eat.

    We went to Medan solely so we could visit the Orangutans in the wild - we were totally successful in this enterprise. Only one day was required in visiting Mount Leuser National Park. Three tourist sites stood out for us - they could all be visited in one further full day: Tjong A Fie Mansion Maximum Palace Rahman International Wildlife Museum (quite expensive at Rp 300,000 each) We spent 6 nights in Medan - we could have done it all easily in 3 nights! Compared with other Far-East cities, Medan lags behind in tourism preparedness.

    Medan is such a healing place to go.

    Medan is such a healing place to go. Less than one hour flight from KUL-KNO and very peaceful in lake toba. I suggest to just spend time in Lake Toba as the place serve you with beautiful nature scenery that can calm your mind. If you wish to go travel immediately and on budget please consider Lake Toba.

    I think the restaurant should've open ealier cause I am really starving and craving for food in the morning. The people was nice and affable. When we asked questions, they wore a smile and answered patiently. The becak and angkut were great, l enjoyed the breeze and the city view. Deli Park was majestic ✨️ and also Tjong A Fie Mansion was spectacular and historical. What I like the most in Medan is definitely the Medan people! They are amiable, helpful snd loving ! A memorable trip indeed.

    Medan itself is not very inviting to visitors.

    Medan itself is not very inviting to visitors. I stay there only on my way or return from Lake Toba. The hotels in Medan are OK and I visited Aryaduta for many years already. Is value for money with a fantastic breakfast buffet. Rooms are always OK.

    Best location, helpful staff n value for money. The best attraction in Medan Tjong A Fie Mansion is a mere 3 min walk away. Don’t miss this. Best Chinese food is found at Jln Surabaya area, 15 min walk. Tom & Jerry Medan Soto is also around there. Famous Tip Top is just opposite n Garuda Nasi Padang style Restn is 8 min walk but both are grossly overrated. The train station is only 15 min walk n the very comfy 40 min ride to the airport is only 50k IDR.

    It has almost everything you can wish for. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I have ever experienced. A lot of choice, delicious coffee but best of all outstanding service. Props to all the hotel staff delivering the best and personal service one could possibly ask for. I can’t remember all the names I had good conversations with, but one I do remember is Hambali. His service is more than outstanding.

    It was located a little bit far from the city centre but we are well aware of it so not much of a problem. We arrived late night but they still wait and help to accomodate us. Every staff is friendly, breakfast is made upon request and it was good! They have several cute dogs that are super friendly. Love the overall look of the guesthouse, lovely and quiet place to stay! Recommended!
