We spent two nights at the end of our holiday in this area.
We spent two nights at the end of our holiday in this area. It was not for us. The area is dominated by large resorts and the main activities centre around surfing, or hanging out in a pricey resort/bar, or perhaps viewing artifical tourist sights. Admittedly some resorts are very nice and have nice views but it's not really my style of holiday to spend several hundred dollars to lounge on a sunbed on the coast. There are plenty of higher end places to eat in this area, but I didn't go to Indonesia to eat western food. The Indonesian options feel very samey and were better in other areas with more Indonesian diners. Even Ubud with its hordes of people felt more authentically like Bali than this area does. In all, if you want a resort style holiday or are a wealthy surfer then this is the area for you. If you want to mosey around and get a feel for Bali it is not. For other watersports, it would be better to go north e.g. for diving/snorkelling. Or go to another island altogether.Guest review byAlexanderNew Zealand - 10.0

Compared to most other tourist areas in Bali Nusa Dua and Benoa is a much quieter and layback location if that is what you are looking for. There are lots of nice restaurants within short walking distance to most hotels. It's not a great place for children because I'd say they'd get bored quickly, but then that's a bonus for those for us who like a quiet location.Guest review byChrisAustralia - 8.0

Each beach very different,so travelled quite a bit to get to them-lots to see & do away from the beach eg visited the elephant sanctury,released day old turtles on kuta beach.Ubud was a great place to visit-we went to an indonesian dance show at the palace which was amazing,great markets here but be where the traffic here is horrendous!Guest review bygillianUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nusa Dua has many faces and brilliant options! It is not just for rich folks. Geger beach is excellent… also for local food. Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend their miles and points at all the usual hotel chains. The neighborhood is almost all resort pricing unless you go and mingle in the slum-like conditions that the local construction workers are living in. Almost all of the activities and attractions outside of the resorts are very suspicious, often feeling like tourist trap scams. I would only stay here again if someone were inviting me to some convention hosted here and they were putting me up in the resort hotel.Guest review byKoJapan - 8.0

The weather was good...28 degrees every day . Lots of 5 star resorts on the beach and the usual Warungs , laundries , massage shops and convenience stores across the road. The Bali Collective is worth a look. Could be a little windy at times but sometimes that was welcome too. Nice outlook towards Nusa Penida on the horizon. Found the Bali Nusa Dua hotel to be very pleasant and the staff to be more than helpful. Room was very comfortable while we waited for our little girl to get better and I’d definitely recommend it to those wanting a nice hotel that’s not overrun with other families. Although the hotel is dated, the price was reasonable as we checked in when occupancy was low. We were glad that we chose this hotel before our flight out of Bali. Our room was spacious and they had good selections on offer for breakfast.
