The rooms were immaculate, the staff were super friendly and the jungle atmosphere was amazing :) they also had a super chef that cooked the breakfasts every morning and Ami was fantastic and took us on a great walk through the rice paddies with a great coconut refreshment. I would also highly recommend Ami’s brother for any trips you might need to take with a taxi :)

The location is remote, and we liked it! It really is in the jungle. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful, lush with flora and fauna and the design is especially thoughtful and in good taste. The staff was extraordinary: they really did everything to make our stay comfortable and beyond. We enjoyed the food, the pool and the beautiful birthday preparations. Special thanks to Eji and the hotel manager (sorry I forgot to ask his name), both very kind and professional people.

Wayan and Ema were amazing hosts. We were able to meditate with Wayan and his living Guru. Ema made delicious breakfast each morning. The meditation space was beautiful and calming. We enjoyed the warmth and hospitality with which we were welcomed from the first to the last day, the attention to detail, and the superb view regarding the hotel's location. The food was delicious and diverse. The top-notch facilities are far above those of a 5-star hotel in Europe. The enormous infinity pool was impressive. The staff was always at our disposal and very helpful in all aspects. If you are an art lover, it is the perfect place to stay because the hotel is filled with statues and traditional art objects. The hotel also features gardens with lush, well-maintained vegetation.

    Payangan is about 20 - 30 minutes out of Ubud, depending on traffic. It is an excellent introduction to Balinese village life and the 'real' Bali. There are no facilities except some basic little general stores, and no ATM in the village. Outside of the hotels, there are no restaurants. It's a 'get away from it all' destination.

    + - Beautiful place - Amazing surroundings. - Friendly staff - Good food - Spacious rooms - - Little flaws in the room (airco and fan not working properly) - Little bit overpriced (laundry service, taxi service) - Staff should put out cushions by the pool when pool opens (we had to ask after being there for 2 hours) - The charge of 10% service fee on everything really bothered us.

    The area is spectacularly beautiful however it cops a lot of rain and there can be land slides which cut road access. Our hotel (Adiwana Dara Ayu Villas) was a long way from other properties, so eating options (hotels, restaurants, local warungs) were non existent and sadly as the food in our hotel was abysmal (even the Indonesian was done badly) we skipped eating meals which diminished the pleasure of the holiday.

    Beautiful resort with spectacular views and authentic Balinese architecture. Service was superb and the food even better. Although it’s a bit more remote, we didn’t need anything that the hotel didn’t cater for. If you’re after tranquility to recharge your batteries, this is the place for you. We cannot wait to return.
