Attractive town but limited facilities - no obvious public toilets and many of the store's ones were 'out of order', where available good - necessary if you have children or are getting on a bit. Beautiful park, fun all day pub eatery with a train inside, There is also a train service but not many trains - station facilities only available when a train was due. If you do not drive Castlerea is easily accessible by train...
If you do not drive Castlerea is easily accessible by train but local transport is challenging. We recommend Keene taxis. Best restaurants….Hesters and the Old Stone House….the center of Castlerea is about an easy 15 minute walk….Guest review byJosephUnited States

The location worked out really well, it's right by many walks and the train station is just around the corner. We ended up eating in the hotel every evening and it was fantastic. The room we had was lovely, very large and recently invested in so very comfortable! The staff were amazing, always so helpful - both in the bar and the breakfast staff. The staff were extremely friendly, full Irish hospitality. The bar had locals, all welcoming and Irish breakfast to boot!
