It was the 6 stay already. We love the Hotel and Athenry. Close to many good spots like Connemara, Galway, Burrens or Cliffs of Moher. They changed a little to much to the breakfast but its still very good.

Exceptional little find… the room was perfect the only and it’s certainly not a criticism but it was just lacking somewhere to hang your coat and somewhere to put your toiletry bag other than that absolutely10/10. Such friendly staff and incredible food in the adjoining restaurant.

    Craughwell is an ideal stay cation with easy access to major highways. Galway is 20mins away, Clare coast 1hr. The town is small, has limited facilities, and is easily explored in 30mins, but as a b&b base for a 3 night stay, we found it ideal. There's a petrol station, pub, small resteraunt (open weekends), some shops, and a large Hotel serving food 1 mile away.

    Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city.

    Craughwell itself can be reached by bus from Galway city. This bus was not available from the railway station. You need to go elsewhere, but still close to the railway station to get a bus. Tickets may be purchased on the bus. The Craughwell bus stop is opposite the church there and you must tell the driver in advance where you want to alight. The screen inside the bus doesn't show locations. Craughwell offers nothing currently in 2024 for Solo Travellers without a car, in the evening sadly.
