The best small town with friendly people.
The best small town with friendly people. Everything is a 5 minute walk, steps from each other in distance. It's just a cute town. Convenient to DART so if we wanted to go anywhere it was super easy. Went to Blackrock, Sandycove and Dun Laoghaire. From Dublin airport by bus and the on DART super easy and that was after being awake for 44 hours trying to get from Canada with our plane delays. Already planning a return trip. Lots of restaurants to chose from in Dalkey. Ate at DeVilles (you need reservations or run the chance of not dining that day) and the Coliemore pub. Lovely area, with plenty of historical places to visit should you like to. Have quite a few good pubs and other eating establishments; the Queens was great! Not a great amount of local shops, which is something that we look for when we visit a downtown.Guest review byAmyUnited States - 4.0

Dalkey is a charming little town right on the train route.
Dalkey is a charming little town right on the train route. The Coliemore rooms are super accessible right behind the lovely pub. Be sure to visit the Sorrento Park and Dalkey Island using the local ferry. Also the Dalkey Hill provides great views of the area and Dublin. Be sure to note that the train does take 25 minutes or so to get into Dublin, so you need to plan for that if you're going into the city.Guest review byCraigUnited States - 10
Beautiful and quaint historic town with a superb heritage...
Beautiful and quaint historic town with a superb heritage centre ideal for a family visit. Highly entertaining tour with actors in costume and lots of interaction. Surrounding areas picturesque. Not easy to drive around Dalkey..
Not easy to drive around Dalkey..Must have been a nice area long ago before traffic and construction clogged it up..The facade of the village buildings is nice and well maintained. Malahide and Howth would be a far better option for a city break.Guest review byColetteIreland

It had a lovely village atmosphere with plenty of coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs. Also easy to reach the sea swimming areas of Forty Foot and Vico baths and Kiliney beach. The room we had was very spacious and clean and as described with comfy beds. Breakfast is available in the pub next door and many of the cafes in the high street.
