Israel’s tiny speck of Red Sea is squeezed between Eqypt (Taba) on one side and Jordan (Aqaba) on the other side. Eilat is a resort city for glamorous people lying on the beach and scuba divers under the sea who come together for superb sunsets and long, warm summer nights.
Many tourists use this 7 km stretch of land as a passage to the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt or onwards to Petra in Jordan. The Tayelet promenade is a place to stroll and search for the perfect restaurant or boutique shop. The southern part of the magnificent Negev Desert can be accessed from Eilat by 4WD tours or bus. This Bedouin territory includes the Great Rift Valley and the Eilat Mountains Nature Reserve.
The sparkling Gulf of Aqaba provides the perfect backdrop for local Israelis and international tourists to party into the wee hours. Festivals such as Red Sea Jazz and Red City during summer help to fuel the busy beach activities.

Eilat is simply a wonderful destination.
Eilat is simply a wonderful destination. On the way, we stopped for a stunning viewpoint at Mitzpe Ramon – a breathtaking stop that perfectly set the tone for what was to come. Coral Beach is an amazing spot for snorkeling – colorful reefs and plenty of fish. We did an introductory dive with Deep Siam Diving School, and it was absolutely worth it. Our instructor, Yaara, was very professional, patient, and taught us a lot about marine life. The Underwater Observatory complemented the diving experience, giving us even more fascinating perspectives on the Red Sea’s underwater world. Our trip to Timna Park was unforgettable – the landscapes, history, and colors are simply breathtaking. My guest from the U.S., visiting there for the first time, was impressed and enjoyed it beyond words. We drove into the park and could easily visit several highlights without long hikes: the Mushroom, Solomon’s Pillars, the Mines, and the Arches. For hiking lovers – don’t miss the beautiful canyons, and with a guide you can even go further into the Eilat mountains.
