It has very good tourist attractions and very near to Bangalore. One can find a very pleasant climate and experience at this location. A nice visit for a duration of 2 or 3 days for a family or group of friends. While some of the locations are not open/not in a condition to visit (like Kudremukh peak...), better one can do proper research on latest situation rather then relying completely on outdated information available in the net. Talk to locals/ resident travel advisors before making an attempt to visit a place. Found it safe as we could able to travel some of the locations during nights as well.Guest review byreddy - 10.0

Chikmagalūr is a NICE PLACE, however before you go in offseason, do check of the attractions are open or close, as due to rain, (we travelled in last week of July ) attractions are closed due to rain.. The chikmagalur is amazing, best if you have your own vehicle, also get SUV vehicle if you like offroading, most of the places are free to enter but few places you need to pay forest tax or entry fees, apart from this everything was exceptional. Lot of VEG and NON-Veg hotels available. avoid hebbe falls as there is too much crowd and go to jhari waterfalls, it costs less as well.Guest review byA.s - 8.0

The sights on the hills have very narrow roads and since it was a long weekend, there were traffic jams everywhere.. wish this could be managed better on the hills, as once we are stuck, we are stuck for hours.. The jeep ride to the Jhari waterfalls was quite rough and avoid if you have sr citizens with you.. the waterfalls in itself was very underwhelming and full of people trying to bathe in it, spoiling the ambience of the place..we stayed there for less than 5 mins..Guest review byPingaliIndia
