AustraliaThis is an annexe attached to the oldest hotel in town. We had the biggest room and a view as well. There was heaps of space for our bags and cold weather gear. (We had a lot)
Breakfast was very good, in a basement dining room that was decorated with heaps of memorabillia.
There was a private natural hot spring in the grounds that was nice and hot.
Staff were lovely and did our washing for us.

United StatesThe Guesthouse was our first lodging while traveling through Iceland and they set the bar very high. We rented 1 room for 3 gals (ages 67 to 73) for our 1 night and it was a great choice. First of all, the guesthouse was very easy to find with great signage....Thank You! Second, we didn't realize that in addition to our room we had access to the very large community area which was very comfortable and had multiple options of seating.....the place is huge! Then we realized there was a kitchen we had access to also. I might have missed these extras when doing my research but nonetheless, we were thrilled. The hot tub was wonderful after a full day of driving and it was fun to watch the chickens from the tub. There is a patio that you can use when the weather is a bit warmer than what it was in May. Everything is neat and clean and well maintained. The setting is lovely and quiet with a perfect view of the horses in the fields beyond. Its a great place to stay and I would stay here again.

My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag.
My stay at the guesthouse was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the self-check-in process was a breeze, and I was pleasantly surprised by the level of cleanliness and the spaciousness of my room. The facilities, including the WiFi and kitchen, were top-notch, and I had no complaints on that front. However, there were a few quirks that left me feeling a bit unsure. The surrounding farm was somewhat peculiar, but I must admit that I'm not exactly an expert on farming, and I didn't book this place for its agricultural charm. The absence of any human interaction with the host was a tad disconcerting. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and a friendly welcome or some local insights would have been appreciated. One noteworthy detail was the water quality, which had a distinct sulfur smell. While this might be normal for the area, it would have been helpful if the host had mentioned it beforehand. In summary, the guesthouse had fantastic facilities, but the lack of host interaction and the peculiar farm surroundings left me with mixed feelings. Plus, a heads-up about the unique water scent would have been a considerate touch. However, all in all, good to very good value for the money.Guest review byThomas

However, the rooms were comfortable for our purposes. The rooms were well cleaned. The bed was quite comfortable. The provided breakfast was very good with lots of typical Icelandic options and choices more familiar to a Canadian. The staff were welcoming. The only difficulty is that the wifi signal in this part of the world is variable and their well-timed messages had not arrived by the time we got there.
