Great location for some of the amazing beauty-spots of the area. The road up to the lighthouse is now paved and the views from up there are beyond spectacular. Watch for rogue waves at Black Beach! Despite the warning signs, flashing lights, I watched an idiot tourist engulfed and pulled toward the ocean. Yes, he was able to scramble to safety, but it was close. Mother Nature is not to be toyed with! Signs at the parking lot to the plane wreck say that it takes “3-4 hours” to walk there and back—because they want you to take their bus-thingy. I’m a fast walker and it took me 40 minutes each way. The sight was amazing, if you like bizzare and surreal sights—which I do.Guest review byThorCanada - 8.0

Steinar itself is not a tourist destination (it's a small hamlet), but it's located close to many attractions of the southern coast, and the surroundings are beautiful - it's located between the ocean and steep rocks.
