I recently stayed at Bitra Guesthouse and was very pleased with my experience. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful. The location is peaceful and quiet, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Skálatjörn Guesthouse exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The guesthouse is set in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by stunning views – on a clear day, you can even spot glaciers on the horizon. It is the perfect base to explore South Iceland. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We especially appreciated the small details: everything was thoughtfully arranged, and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. What truly stands out is the hospitality. The hosts are incredibly kind, attentive, and always happy to share advice or local insights. A very special highlight were the rare Icelandic goats that live on the property – gentle, curious animals that guests can visit daily. They are very friendly and love to be petted, which made our stay feel even more unique and memorable. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Iceland.
