The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (Pompeii, walking the path of the Gods, visit other towns along the coast, cookery course etc) was brilliant and made for a great holiday. We did find that the whole coast was packed with tourists and when the cruise ships came in, this was much worse. The steps everywhere were a challenge. The biggest disappointment was the huge amount of tourists. It was like visiting a festival or Disneyland. There were a couple restaurants that were quite good. My adult daughter enjoyed her hikes; one in Amalfi behind cemetery & other in Altara(?). I'm sure it's easy to get around without the maddening crowd; but it was a turnoff upon arrival to face this, so unexpected. Amalfi is a small and charming town with beautiful architecture and a lovely atmosphere. However, since it’s the central town of the entire Amalfi Coast, it tends to get very crowded — which unfortunately takes away some of its charm. That said, it’s still worth a visit, especially to admire its history and beauty. But I highly recommend exploring the nearby towns as well — like Positano, Atrani, Maiori, Minori, and others — each of them has its own unique character and is often much more peaceful and authentic.Guest review byLiza ManijaLatvia - 10.0

Better location than Capri or Positano as more reasonable and right level of energy. Good road and sea transfer to places like Ravello and Pompeii. Both worth a visit.
