Absolutely worth a visit - found a great street market, lovely friendly cafes and the information centre directed us to a garden centre where of course we bought a lemon tree (actually two). If you want to listen to some seriously good music - visit the biggest of the four churches in the town centre and listen to the church choir practicing. There isn't much to see in Caltanissetta itself but it is a good base for travelling around the area. It isn't touristy so not as busy as place such as Enna and Piazza Armerina.
