Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. Caserta is a very busy town with a network of narrow one way streets. The significant sights in and around Caserta are easily reached by the cheap local buses. I had to go the hospital.
I had to go the hospital. The drive was crazy as are the streets of Caserta! The hospital from the outside looked as if it was in a war-torn country. Driving up to the ER was blocked by 100 people. Everyone is smoking in Caserta and we've actually found that to be true everywhere in Italy. I was sick with asthma. The hospital DID NOT help me. They actually treated me with disdain. I was the only person with a mask on due to my coughing. Several different GPS apps had literally going in circles. A police officer was very helpful and took us straight to the BNB. We were not to see the Royal Palace of Caserta. It was nice in that the first week of April is a slow tourist time. We had the streets to ourselves in walking. The drivers are crazy; give the taxi driver your address and close your eyes!Guest review byDeanneUnited States - 10.0
Palace was amazing.
Palace was amazing. The gardens were fabulous to walk through. It was nice to be out of the busyness of city of Naples and relax in the fresh air of gardens around palace. Caserta has lots of boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars if that is what you are into. The only point of interest is the Palace and we found it pricey. I don’t know what forms of transport they have. We never saw a bus. Everyone was either driving, biking or walking.Guest review byKellyCanada

It is old and needs renovation. Shower was extremely small and not enough shower gel. Towels were old and with holes in it. Food was very average and breakfast not very good. They re wash plastic cups as they smelled of dirty water. Plus staff were loud and in your face. A waiter was always arguing with another waiter in front of customers.
