The whole place is incredible, rooms beautifully arranged with all the things you need. Hosts are trying to make your stay even more unforgettable with their smiling, helpful and warm attitute. We spend wonderful 3 days there, surely recommend this place in the middle of little town in mountains.

Amazing, we usually stay in 5 star hotels and this is up there with the best. It has old world charm, character and personality missing from so many hotels now, staff are excellent especially Matilda and restaurant staff were so friendly and accomadating with young baby

We were received by the very lovely staff and had dinner in the hotel restaurant. The food was locally sourced and tasted amazing. The room was clean and cozy and had a great lake view. A tiny breakfast buffet was setup especially for us.

Incredible host! Nina is a real Italian nonna who made us feel very welcome. We arrived in the afternoon and she even offered to make us dinner (the only reason we refused is because we don't eat meat so she recommended a great restaurant just 15min into town). The rooms and bathroom are very clean and we were given fresh towels, soap in the bathroom and even a pair of slippers each. The bedroom was spacy, we got our own key so we could leave and enter when we pleased and there were two seperate beds but she helped us push them together. We wanted to leave very early so we were not counting on breakfast, but she made breakfast for us at 6:30 in the morning and it was amazing! She remembered no meat for us but it was a whole buffet just for us. Fresh bread, cheeses, eggs, cookies, cakes and so much more. We even got a jar of her home made cherry jam that she made from the cherries of her own tree! We chatted with her a bit and she is the sweetest host we ever had. She doesn't speak English very well but she can communicate perfectly by use of the translation app on her phone. When we left she even pointed us in the right direction of the highway so we didn't have to take the mountain road the gps told us to. She gave us some fresh strawberries from her own garden and we were on our way! If we ever stop in Bologna again we will be sure to book with Nina again 🩷

After great breakfast host offered us a ride back to Monzuno. It was just a couple of kilometres but we were walking Via degli dei and it meant a lot to us. He even stoped at the store so my friend could get the phone charger he lost on the way.

    Not touristy, and somewhat difficult to get to without a car...

    Not touristy, and somewhat difficult to get to without a car (possible, but the bus from Imola to Castel del Rio does not run at all hours, definitely check before you go if you're travelling without a car). The Ponte Alidosi is even prettier in person than in pictures, definitely worth the walk to admire and cross. Castel del Rio has a lovely suggested walking route to all their historic sites with informative signs, highly recommend doing the walk. The museum is lovely--only open on Sundays, so definitely worth the trip if you're there on a Sunday, but it's not so amazing that I would reroute your trip specifically to visit it. The Renaissance Festival was a ton of fun and I hope to return next year! There's a place that rents canoes and excellent bike routes as well for the more outdoorsy traveler (though I did not use either myself this trip). Love this town!
